Unless you check out this fantastic mod for Battlefield 2142, its called Conflict 2142. Its a tournament based mod and they have Battledays every Saturday where people from all over the world meet online and shoot each other, there is 2 sides like the normal BF2142 but these have had a name change there is also several original BF2 maps have been converted to run on the mod including: Fu She Pass, Karkand and Gulf of Oman also some of the aircraft has found its way into the mod too. There is still BF2142 vehicles in there but they have had a makeover so they dont have the default skins anymore.

The 2 armies are:

Socialist Secret Society
and
The Holy Roman Empire

Both are different from each other and inside each of the armies you have squads, for example im in Sanctus Veretum in The Holy Roman Empire, you get to choose what side you fight for when you signup and also can check out what group to join too. I wasnt bothered what squad to join so the leader of the HRE picked for me
